FAQ

Used, refurbished and condition

What does "used" mean?

A used device has been previously owned. We test it and give it a condition grade before we list it. Used does not mean it has been repaired or reconditioned.

What does "refurbished" mean?

A refurbished device has been previously owned and has also been repaired, restored or reconditioned where needed, for example with a replaced part. We only call a device refurbished when that work has actually been done. The listing tells you whether a device is used or refurbished.

What do the condition grades mean?

Our grades are Excellent, Very Good and Good. They describe cosmetic condition (marks, scratches and wear), not how well the device works. Each listing also has its own cosmetic notes. See our Product Condition Guide for details.

Are the photos of the actual device?

Not always. For used and refurbished products, photos may be representative unless the listing says "Actual item pictured". The condition grade, cosmetic notes and known faults for the listing take priority over the photos.

How do you describe battery health?

Where we have a reliable reading, we show battery health as a percentage. Otherwise we describe the battery's tested status. If we have no reliable battery information, we don't show any.

What's included with a device?

Each listing has a "What's included" section. It shows whether a charger is included and whether it is original or compatible (non-original), plus any cables, accessories or packaging, and anything specifically not included.

Does every laptop come with a charger?

Not always. The listing says whether the charger is Original, Compatible (non-original) or Not included.

Where can I see known faults?

In the "Condition and known faults" section of each used or refurbished listing. If a device has been through our listed checks and none are recorded, we say "No known faults identified during our listed checks".

Testing and data

How do you test devices?

Before we list a used or refurbished device we check it against our testing checklist. Each listing shows the checks recorded for that device. See How We Test Devices for more information.

Is my old data wiped from devices you sell?

Used and refurbished devices are reset and data-wiped before resale where applicable.

Could a device still be locked to someone else's account?

Before resale we check applicable devices to make sure they are not still tied to a previous owner's activation lock, such as iCloud, Google or Microsoft/organisation accounts. If you find a problem, contact us straight away.

Delivery and tracking

Where do you deliver?

We currently deliver to England, Scotland and Wales. We do not currently deliver to Northern Ireland, BFPO addresses, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands or destinations outside the UK.

How quickly will my order arrive?

Orders are normally dispatched the next working day by a tracked, signed-for express service. Delivery usually takes 1–2 working days after dispatch. These are typical times, not guarantees.

How much is delivery?

Free on orders over £100. £10 on orders of £100 or less. The charge is shown at checkout before you pay.

Will I get tracking?

Yes. We send tracking details after dispatch. Depending on the courier, tracking may include progress updates and an estimated delivery window.

What if my parcel is late or lost?

Contact us rather than the courier. We'll investigate with the courier, keep you updated, and arrange a replacement or refund if a parcel is confirmed lost.

Returns, faults and warranty

Can I return a new product if I change my mind?

Yes. New products can be returned within 30 days of receipt under our change-of-mind policy. Please contact us first for a returns reference.

Can I return a used or refurbished product if I change my mind?

Yes, under your legal right to cancel an online purchase. This normally lasts 14 days after you receive the item. Contact us first so we can give you a returns reference.

What if my item is faulty, damaged or not as described?

Contact us as soon as possible. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply to new, used and refurbished items, separately from our change-of-mind policy. We'll handle the problem in line with consumer law. Depending on the circumstances, this may mean a replacement or a refund.

Who pays for return postage?

For change-of-mind returns, you pay the cost of returning the item. For faulty, damaged or not-as-described items, we cover reasonable return costs.

Do products come with a warranty?

Manufacturer warranty may apply to eligible new products. Details vary by manufacturer and product. We don't offer a separate 247Gadgets warranty on used or refurbished products, but your statutory rights always apply.

How long do refunds take?

We normally process approved refunds within 7–10 working days of receiving and inspecting the return. Where consumer law sets an earlier deadline, that deadline applies. Refunds go back to your original payment method.

Which payment methods do you accept?
